So October comes to a close, we are still in the heart of fall. As with many people, this time of year is my favorite. It wasn't until recently I realized I wanted a blue pumpkin. Since teal is my favorite color, I felt I needed one ASAP! And of course, when I went to the store, I immediately got inspired with more. It is unfortunate we live in a day and age that by the time August rolled around, it means it's time to start advertising for Christmas: whether holiday displays start showing up in stores, or they start playing movies counting down to Christmas, there is not much separation this time of year. I wish we had the ability to enjoy each month, each holiday without being overrun with Christmas.
So I decided to enjoy the fall season as long as possible. It is one of the most beautiful times of the year.
So these are the decorations I ended up with:
Here I used some of my sewing pins to attach the sunflowers to the pumpkin (it's plastic). I've seen this idea around so I thought I'd give it a try. I had to be careful not to poke myself which still happened, but I still love the end result.
Since this was what I was after, I didn't want to do a whole lot to this pumpkin, so I made sure the bow stood out instead. It somewhat reminds me of Minnie Mouse.
I've been playing around with my 50mm Nikkor AF-S lens and have been have a blast! It is teaching me so much more about framing and angles of my pictures to give me the results I'm looking for.
I found these at a steal. They were on sale along with the pumpkins at Michael's. They are bright enough that I can use them as nightlights.
Flowers: JoAnn Fabrics || Pumpkins, Bow, Jars with lights: Michael's || Vase: Walmart (old)
Until next time!
